Two bosses fought here, one after another. I postponed doing this town thinking Asmodeus is going to be really mean, in reality, I probably should've done this first or second.
First of all, we face King Guera. He mostly casts magic which can be reflected by having a Black Mage use Mirror (Reflectga for 3 turns). He gives 200 or so experience points, which we don't want since we're playing a low level game, so we wait out three turns, and the battle ends there with no experience gained by anybody. Good.
Asmodeus is the real boss here, and if you ever fought him in a normal game without having everybody equipped with a Ribbon, you should remember this boss well.
Status effects of any kind from Petrify to Instant Death (I think the Ribbon takes care of the latter too, but I'm not positive), earth-elemental physicals that aren't too strong, actually, as well as earth and fire elemental magic, both single target and multi target.
I wanted Brandt to level up this time, catching up with the rest, and since he has the best physical stats out of the four I turned him into a Hero, a physical job, rather than a Black Mage. Heroes are good at using swords and Sword of Light is the best weapon available at this point not counting the Wireless stuff that's too expensive' that's the reason why it's a hero, and not a fighter, or a ranger or something.
Mirror is set up again, and I use Salve-makers to support the attackers with Hi-Ethers so that I don't have to wait for an extra turn to regenerate the AP. The Hero uses Finale, his best skill, while the Black Mage liberally spams Magic Might. We're at low levels and Asmodeus keeps messing up our chances of psyching up, so the damage is nothing impressive, but it's passable.
Believe it or not, dying is the hardest part because Asmodeus tends to prefer status effects over offensive magic so I couldn't get him to kill 3 of my characters at all.
Apparently, hitting him for insignificant damage triggered a different phase and he started using thunder magic? Never knew he knew any. That's what you get for killing bosses very fast, I guess.
Anyway, Leviathan is next. Postponing him until the latest is justified by the fact that he has like 8K health which is WAY more than the rest. Let's see how that one goes.
