Welcome,

This is the 20th episode of a let's play of a "non-Excalibur II perfect game with offensive approach of training" type of challenge, intended for the NTSC US PS1 version of the game.

There may be actions that are done for practical purpose or for no particular purpose in the playthrough; the mandatory actions done in this episode are the following and they can be used as a guide (note that during this playthrough, certain actions can only be done during a short period of time and others can be postponed; note also that there is the possibility I may have missed events like dialogue replacement, sprite change, additional scenes and so on, since those are not generally considered as goals and are not documented at all):
* Arrange to possess 100 copies of Air Racket and Mythril Sword that you will have to carry until a certain point in Disc 4 (timecode: from 09:36 to 09:54).
* Make sure a Chain Mail will be available to Steiner for the section of the battle in Alexandria's Castle (it suffice to possess two copies to be safe; timecode: 10:54).

Extra info/corrections/comments on this episode:
* I got rid of the requirement to possess a Chain Mail here in Treno, but Chain Mail will be available to buy from Dan in Cleyra, and thus meeting the requirement can be delayed until initiating the invasion of Cleyra.
* The task of possessing 100 copies of Mythril Swords is a requirement that must be met only before entering Desert Palace, but since all the money possessed must be lost at the beginning of Disc 3 to watch an ATE in Lindblum, I decided to buy 99 Mythril Swords here in Disc 2 so I will not have to waste time or to sell items in order to recollect the 130000 Gils (necessary to maximize the item) after watching the ATE in Disc 3.
* I bought dozen of items in the armories (and I'll keep doing it until I reach Lindblum at Disc 3) in order to have items to resell if Gils are needed after watching the ATE mentioned above, and to be at ease in future synthesis operations.
* It is recommended from now on to always have around 90 copies of Ether, Ore, and the curative items that can be purchased at the items shops (not more or 99 copies, since this will prevent obtaining treasures later).
* The purpose of doing the Pearl Rouge maximization so early is to do it before the availablity of the Thief Gloves in Treno's auction in Disc 3, because the unique items of the auction's 4th slot (Dark Matter, Thief Gloves, Ribbon and Reflect Ring), if available, are prioritary and make Pearl Rouge temporary unavailable, and the requirements related to the items optimization of this challenge forbid obtaining the Thief Gloves in the auction until making the final save in Disc 4 (note that the task can be delayed for the events of the cards tournament at the start of Disc 3, but I generally prefer to get rid of it in Disc 2).
* Maximizing Pearl Rouge in the auction requires more or less 1500000 Gils if the bidding is done in such a way as not to lose too much money (but since this requires time to avoid buying unnecessary items, time that I don't want to waste, I will waste all the money needed to complete the task as soon as possible).
