Once the party is reunited, it's time to utilize a new strategy for the Alexandrian Soldiers.
Excuse my lack of execution on the menu as this was my first real attempt on this segment!!!

The equipment setups are as follows:

Zidane - Dagger, Bandana, Glass Armlet, Mythril Vest, Madain's Ring
(Man Eater)
Vivi - Oak Staff, Mage's Hat, Bone Wrist, Magician Robe, Gold Choker

Quina's equipment is unchanged and give Freya the Silver Gloves. Activate Quina's Add Status and Freya's HP+10% and Distract abilities.

The Reasoning:
In previous versions of the guide, a Partisan was bought for Freya so that she could deal enough damage to make a soldier escape, however there was a 33% chance she could kill them instead and we cannot have that!!! Zidane before had an attack that was guaranteed to make one escape but you had to risk Freya's attack if you wanted to get the battle over quickly. Now without having to spend extra gil, we can use a piece of equipment we already have, the Bio spell from Vivi's Oak Staff!!! In addition, with Zidane wearing the Madain's Ring, Blizzara will only heal him, eliminating the need of the old Auto-Potion strategy!

By using a MT-Bio (Multi-Targeted) spell on the soldiers, Bio will deal one of four damage outputs; 448, 480, 480 or 512 damage to each one. Since it takes a minimum of 476 damage to make a soldier escape, you have a 75% chance of success. Best of all is that Bio cannot kill a soldier alone, however if a soldier is inflicted with poison, it CAN die from it if you leave the ATB gauges active, but if it has sustained enough damage to flee, then a soldier will escape before the poison damage can kill it!!! In the case of 446 damage, one attack from Zidane (after allowing escapees to leave) will do the job, barring a critical strike which can still happen but only rarely.

The Execution:
Have Vivi cast MT-Bio and open Zidane's Attack menu once the spell is in it's animation.
If either soldier remains, have Zidane attack to deal the remaining damage needed. If any soldier is poisoned but has not escaped, have Zidane attack and when Freya or Quina's turn comes, quickly open a menu to stop the ATB gauges! Freya and Quina are too strong to help, so if both soldiers remain (both taking 448 damage) reset.

You will need to use an Elixir on Vivi after the second pair of soldiers. Once back to the settlement, one Type B stands between you and the save point, so hopefully a single casting of Stop or one Needle Fork attack will petrify it!
