Quina needs to be recruited in order to avoid forced EXP in Gizamaluke's Grotto, hence why the Needle Fork is stolen during the FOTH. I messed up a little setting up the party after getting the initial grotto scenes done, but not enough to reset over. It's unfortunate I had to endure a few attacks from the Type A mages, but the main goal is to petrify both with 2 Needle Fork attempts. Also don't wait to long to save outside!
My Chocobo H&C digs were awesome! Not only did I get a Chocobo Piece and one of the two acceptable chocographs on game 2, but a lot of gil to boot!! Before saving, I made sure Vivi was revived and Zidane has the Dagger. With a pre-emptive battle, the first character who acts can get two turns in before the enemy can retaliate, so Zidane can do enough damage along with Freya to put one Mandragora within eating range, Quina eats the Mandragora, Vivi then NEEDS to knock out Quina after learning Limit Glove, and finally Zidane can flee on his next turn since he went first!
Limit Glove is a necessary tool to finish boss battles early on in the challenge!!!
