Our Final Fantasy 14 journey continues! Today's video is sort of part 2 of our last FFXIV video, where we did our first impressions of The Palace of The Dead. In this video, we try out the dungeon as part of a random group.

Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to TinyBlueGames! Today we are talking about Final Fantasy 14 in 2019, and specifically we will be trying out PotD as a group. Now I have already made a video about The Palace of the Dead where I tried out the dungeon as a solo player. This time, however, we will be checking things out as a group instead.

The first thing that I noticed when trying PotD as a group was that it was really easy to find a group. This becomes obvious when you realize that 4 DPS can run the dungeon without the need of a dedicated healer or tank. This made the queue extremely fast, the longest I ended up waiting was about 2 minutes and I would usually get in within 30 seconds.

The next thing I noticed was how quickly you can progress through the different floors of the dungeon. With 4 separate people attacking each monster you can really rush through the floors very efficiently. Additionally, it seemed as though you levelled just as fast with a group as you did solo. So despite clearing floors quicker, you still gained the same amount of strength.

Ultimately, my favourite part of trying out The Palace of the Dead the second time around was pushing my level past the actual level of my current job. I initially thought that you would be at a disadvantage for doing this as you wouldn't get access to some of your higher-level skills. However, you actually get to unlock your higher levels skills right in the dungeon. So it becomes this really cool system where players can experience playing their job at a higher level than they currently are. This is especially great as the game is known for having an issue with the combat feeling real slow at lower levels on many jobs. This gives new players the ability to experience the games high-end combat much sooner than they would organically!

As a relatively new ffxiv player, I have been enjoying giving my first impressions for the many different pieces of content this game has to offer. If you are interested in exploring the game yourself I suggest you check out the Final Fantasy 14 free trial. This trial lets you play the base game all the way to level 35, with no time restrictions. It was ultimately the free trial that convinced me to dive into the full game and the new Shadowbringers expansion!

👀 What's the highest floor you can get to in The Palace of the Dead?
