I Broke My Own Rule | FFXIV in 2019
Our Final Fantasy 14 journey continues! In today's video, I brake my own rule and try out a different combat job!
Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to TinyBlueGames! Today we are talking about Final Fantasy 14 in 2019, and specifically we will be talking about trying out a new combat job. Now I know I had originally made the rule that I wanted to get my bard all the way to max level before being tempted by another job, but I found this to counter the way I strive to enjoy MMOs. My mission statement when playing and enjoying MMOs these days is to: A. take my time and B. enjoy any and all content I come across. So it seemed really weird that I was willing to try almost any feature in FFXIV, but not trying one of the most unique features in the game, the ability to change job (class) on the same character. So... I decided to break my on rule.
I decided to try out the Arcanist job as it has easily been the job that I've been the most interested in since starting the game. Firstly, I really enjoy the idea of having a caster that can also summon pets. I think that the ability to have pets really improvements my levelling experience as you don't feel as alone. The other reason I am very interested in this job is the fact that it splits into two jobs later on. It's kind of a 2 for the price of 1 situation. What makes it even more exciting is that you unlock the summoner (as described above) but you also get the scholar, a healer. This is particularly exciting as being a healer is also something that has interested me. I look forward to healing some of the basic dungeons I have unlocked as I bring my Arcanist up to the level of my Main Scenario Quests (MSQs). My ultimate goal is still to push forward through the MSQs to get to higher-level content, but this way I can keep the MSQs feeling fresh as I progress.
As a relatively new ffxiv player, I have been enjoying giving my first impressions for the many different pieces of content this game has to offer. If you are interested in exploring the game yourself I suggest you check out the Final Fantasy 14 free trial. This trial lets you play the base game all the way to level 35, with no time restrictions. It was ultimately the free trial that convinced me to dive into the full game and the new Shadowbringers expansion!
👀 Do you enjoy the arcanist job? Do you think I will prefer summoner or scholar?
