I am a Summoner! | FFXIV in 2019

Ladies and Gentleman, welcome back to Tiny Blue Games! My name Csaw or Chris, and today we are discussing the summoner. Just before we get into that I wanted to give a quick shoutout to Work2Game. This past Friday (Friday, October 11th) I was invited to record a podcast with them. I had a tremendous about of fun talking to them about my FFXIV experience so far and about other MMORPGs in general. Now you can go see the raw video on Twitch right away, but I've been told that the YouTube version will be uploaded to their channel this coming Monday (Monday the 14th). I will be sure to put a link in the description once it has been uploaded.
Coming back to today's video, I've been really excited to try the summoner out as it combines several class mechanics that I love in other MMOs. Specifically, its combination of summoned pets and damage over time effects makes me think of the necromancer class from Guild Wars 2 (GW2). However, it GW2 you have to choose to specialize in either dot damage or minions, it FFXIV it seems like the summoner can play with both at the same time. This is great as it gives you a larger variety of tools to use in each fight. Additionally, access to some healing abilities makes the open world a lot more manageable. Ultimately, I'm really happy I persued this job and I' looking forward to progressing with it alongside my bard.
As a relatively new ffxiv player, I have been enjoying giving my first impressions for the many different pieces of content this game has to offer. If you are interested in exploring the game yourself I suggest you check out the Final Fantasy 14 free trial. This trial lets you play the base game all the way to level 35, with no time restrictions. It was ultimately the free trial that convinced me to dive into the full game and the new Shadowbringers expansion!
