Fighter Destiny 2 Game Sample - N64
Original Air Date: March 26th, 2009
Fighter Destiny 2 is a bit of a travesty when compared to the first game. It's so bad, they took the "s" off the title (it's a joke, it was removed due to copyright issues), which is just as well since the number of actual new fighters could almost be mistaken for the number 1. Okay, seriously though, this game is insulting in my opinion. Made a significant amount of time after the first game, the game basically IS the first game. It's filled with a roster full of new characters who generally fight the same or worst than characters from the original game. The only really new characters are Dixon, maybe Cherry, and the fantastically cool and cheap Fabien.
Saeki is Ryuji, Adriana is Valerie, Abdul is... Abdul, Federico is Leon, D-Dog is Dennis Rodman or Bob (take your pick), Kate is Boro, Ninja is still Ninja (thankfully), Zeige is Tomahawk, Pierre is just strange (and still Pierre), Meiling is Meiling (but different looking), Master is Master, Mou is Ushi, and Cherry... is not Joker, but she's lamer anyway. The returning characters hardly have anything new and some of the "new" characters who copy the originals have less moves than the originals. The visuals are somewhat improved and the soundtrack is improved a bit more (some tunes are great), but it's not worth playing what is basically the same game all over with characters who I don't even find as appealing.
If you haven't played the first game, then you'll probably want this one. If you own the first game and you're thinking about upgrading, you're not missing much...at all. Still, when everything is said and done, this game is pretty good (just a fairly lousy sequel). This video shows Ninja, Kate and Fabien. Enjoy.
