One of many games in the "Hiryu no Ken" series, Flying Dragon is largely a Japan-only series of action and fighting games. Some games were released outside of Japan and were modified to improve their marketability, going under the premise of "Flying Warriors", fighting experts who had superhero-like powers that could be invoked. Flying Dragon (NES) and Ultimate Fighter (SNES) were also released outside of Japan and are part of the Hiryu no Ken series. This is the only Hiryu no Ken game other than the first in the U.S. that uses the actual HnK characters, which is a welcome change in my book.

In this fighting game, you get to play with many Hnk characters who will seem very familiar if you have a moderate understanding of the series. While it might not look like much, it's actually kinda fun and you get the cool feature to play "SD Hiryu no Ken" in 3D or a more normalized Arcade version (a simplified version of the Playstation "Virtual Hiryu no Ken"). The SD Mode is particularly fun because you can tackle the fighting mode to build your strength, get money, find hidden unlockables, and buy new goods. The game is neat for fans of the series who will likely be able to enjoy this game and overlook its various flaws. I do not recommend the game for serious fighting game fans, but I appreciated it for what it is. I removed my controller pak to start a new game. This video has some edits to introduce the characters. Enjoy.
