Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth Game Sample - N64

This is a pretty cool old-school space shooter for the N64 and one of the best games of its kind on the system. Unfortunately, the game is somewhat uncommon and finding it in the wild takes some work, although you'll usually find a few online. You start off by choosing from your standard arsenal of three ships that each have different strengths and weaknesses.
The red ship is the balanced fighter with Vulcan firepower, the blue one is easy to manuever and has a large laserbeam it can shoot, and the green ship is slow but powerful and has a very wide shot, which makes gaining multipliers with it a cinch. In addition, each ship can "roll" (barrel roll), where a shield comes around you and can reflect weak enemy fire back. I like the stage presentations and the game has a cool soundtrack too. It isn't the best shooter of its kind, but I'm glad Electro Brain brought this one to the states. Enjoy.
