More than 160 Gurkha veterans have been recognised by the Malaysian Government for their efforts in The Malayan Emergency.

The conflict lasted from 1948 to1960 and involved 6 Gurkha Battalions, as well as thousands of other Commonwealth soldiers.

Today the Gurkhas received the Pingat Jasa Malaysia Medal.
