Proud Clod can be somewhat dangerous, but we can reduce the damage of some of the shoot attacks by equipping Protect Vest and we can absorb both Flamethrower and Blendthrower by equipping Solar Armlet. I would have liked to absorb Freezethrower as well, but Solar Armlet only has 4 materia slots, and I needed those slots for other things, so we do have to deal with Freezethrower, but that's really not a big deal. Another important note is that we can't damage the main part until we destroy the Jamar Armor, which has 15k HP and dies to a few Bolt 3 casts.

Again, I have to use Magic Counter + Renew because I don't have Cure 3 yet, and I have Regen learned. Counter Magic counters with the last spell learned on the materia, and we don't want Aerith to be countering with Regen. Honestly, this is a pretty straightforward fight; sure, this boss does do some respectable damage, but we have Magic Counter + Renew as well as Regen from Planet Protector to stay healed up. Also, we have fire absorb to keep up alive as well. We want to kill the Jamar Armor first, as mentioned earlier; once that's down, we can focus on Proud Clod itself. Not too bad of a fight. I would've liked to see what it big attack was, but the thing had no MP left due to Magic Counter + Osmose. Ehh, maybe next time.
