PREVIOUSLY:
Zidane and his companions, aboard the Invincible, manage to find the foreboding entrance to Memoria above the Lifa tree, where all Gaia's memories and Kuja awaits. As the airship approaches, an army of dragons begins charging at them. The party prepares to retaliate when suddenly, a fleet of airships appears, penetrates through the thick Mist, bombarding the hordes of dragons. With the Lindblum airships lead by Regent Cid and Baku, The Red Rose lead by Beatrix and the Alexandrian Army. The ally troops open up a path that leads the Invincible to the portal.

Zidane and the others make their way to a distorted dimension, Garland's voice reaches Zidane, revealing Memoria as a place made manifest from the memories stored within Gaia's crystal, a place that is created by the memories of the people in Gaia. As the party traverses deeper into the realm of memories, they witness significant moments of their lives intertwined with the earliest stirrings of Gaia. Garland's lingering voice guides them through the dimension, while giving them snippets of information about the relations of Gaia, Terra, and the eidolons, and how all memories and the universe being from one source.

Upon arriving at Crystal World's entrance, Garland bids farewell to Zidane. With his final words, asking him to take care of Kuja, and protect the Crystal.
