CHAPTER 5 - TERRA'S SCENARIO & NARSHE BATTLE
Terra kind of got the short-end of the stick here... This scenario is really short, but it ties in nicely with the following events in the game. So grouping it together really allows the game to flow. Anyway, you'll be back on Lethe River, rafting the remaining portion until you find yourself back on the world map. You'll see that you're incredibly close to Narshe, so just walk on over. The weird mummy guys will stop you at the gate and won't let you pass. So, we'll have to go through the secret passage Locke used in the beginning of the game.
Everything will be exactly the same, up until you reach the room where the moogles joined you in battle. Here, a light will travel around the room in a specific path. You'll have to use the same path, or else the light will surround you and you'll be thrown into a fight. In the room beyond, you'll find the lair of the moogles. The one in the back definitely looks sus... If you go through the path on the left, you'll find a Runic Blade, which we'll give to Celes later. Pretty much just follow the path we used in the beginning of the game, but in reverse and you'll end up at Arvis' house again.
Now, a series of scenes will unfold as you try to convince the people of Narshe to take up arms against the Empire. Sabin's party will join you and explain what Kefka did in Doma. The village elder blames Doma for collaborating with the Returners and claims nothing will happen to Narshe if they remain neutral. However at this point Locke's party walks in to announce that the Empire is already on their way here to attack. The party heads to the cliff up north where the Esper has been moved and vows to defend it at all cost. The party now splits into three groups and must defend against 12 soldiers, along with a boss fight against Kefka.
I used the same party from my GBA walkthrough: Sabin and Cyan are in two different groups, each with their own healer. Then a rag-tag group made up of Edgar, Locke and Gau. The attack comes in two waves: six green soldiers, then six brown ones. There's no real difference between the green and the brown, however the final brown soldier will be a boss monster called 'Hell Rider'. Hell Rider has 1,300 HP and has a fairly strong attack called 'Silver Lance'. I decided to fight him with Locke, Edgar and Gau. Gau's Templar Rage will let him cast 'Fira' which does 700 damage.
Locke is by far the weakest character here, so I made him just concentrate on stealing. You can grab a Mythril Vest from Hell Rider. I fought Kefka using Sabin and Celes. I probably should've used Celes' Runic ability to stop Kefka's magic, but instead I just focused on healing and let Sabin do his thing. When the battle ends, the party will go inspect the Esper. Terra will react to the Esper and transform. She goes flying westward beyond Figaro. The group now splits up to go search for Terra, while the others stay in Narshe to guard the Esper.
I consider this the end of Act 1
