It is time for the second game out of the three games that are part of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, this one is Super Mario Sunshine, which released on the GameCube in 2002, and I did do a YouTube walkthrough on this game 10 years ago, so I decided to revisit this game as part of the 3D All-Stars collection.
In this game, Mario, Peach, and Toadsworth board a plane to Isle Delfino for their vacation, but it doesn't turn out to be what they were expecting, as there is sticky goop at the Airstrip, and Mario is somehow framed for that crime, and he picks up a device named FLUDD to clean up the island.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I did a YouTube walkthrough on Super Mario Sunshine around 10 years ago, but I decided to go back to this game again as part of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. Super Mario Sunshine released in 2002 for the GameCube, and is one of the 3 games in the collection, along with Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. Even though I prefer Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine was one of the first few GameCube games, along with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and I didn't mind this game, and the first five parts were recorded before the update that allowed you to use the GameCube controller, so I had to put up with the weird controls of the Switch Pro Controller.
As for the story, Mario, Peach, and Toadsworth board a plane to Isle Delfino, and when they arrive, they find sticky goop in the Airstrip, and as for the five coloured Toads, I have seen speculation that they could be the Toad Brigade from Super Mario Galaxy, as these Toads have the same colours as the Toad Brigade, and by the way, this is the game Toadsworth debuted in.
When Mario talks to the local Piantas, they blame him for the sticky goop, I think that is unfair, because Mario had only just arrived, and he's already getting blamed for it. One Pianta tells you that you can open your tourist map, which gives you info on the locations of Isle Delfino, and I do like how the island is shaped like a dolphin, and fun bit of trivia, Delfino Plaza is called Dolphic Town in Japanese, and Delfino Airstrip is just called Airport, and another bit of trivia is some of the locations on Isle Delfino are Italian for certain words, for example, "Delfino" is "Dolphin" in Italian.
On the opposite side of the Airstrip is a device called F.L.U.D.D., which stands for "Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dowsing Device", and he was designed by Professor E. Gadd from Luigi's Mansion, and I do like how the cutscene shows different Mario games, like Bowser's appearance in Super Mario Bros., the fight with Iggy Koopa in Super Mario World, and Mario swinging Bowser's tail in Super Mario 64 while FLUDD is scanning Mario.
FLUDD gives us a tutorial, and I find it funny when FLUDD says "Press the ... Button", because in the original release, FLUDD says "R Button", but in Super Mario 3D All-Stars, there is a pause between "the" and "Button". One reason why people find this game underrated is the cutscenes, you cannot even skip them.
With FLUDD, you can spray the M Paint on walls, and you can clean up the goop, and when you get to the center of the Airstrip, spray the paint in the middle and you go up against a Piranha Plant made of goop, this is called a Proto Piranha, or a Gatekeeper, to defeat it, spray its mouth three times, and you can get your first Shine Sprite.
Then we get a bunch of cutscenes, and Mario is arrested for a crime he didn't even do, this shows how dumb Piantas are, because Mario and the others had only just arrived at Isle Delfino, so I find this court scene to be very unfair.
It is up to Mario to clean off the graffiti in Isle Delfno, and the Pianta Officers order Mario to clean up the island, so we are at Delfino Plaza, and I like the music for Delfino Plaza. The first event is at Bianco Square, where the Grand Pianta Statue would be, and there is paint there, and it is time to go up against another Proto Piranha, and the enemies that show up in the paint are called Swoopin' Stus, and they appear where there is goop.
After defeating the Proto Piranha by spraying three times in its mouth, we get a scene where the statue is restored, and we see the true culprit, this is Shadow Mario, and he rushes in an grabs Peach and runs for it, if you talk to Piantas, Mario still gets blamed even when Shadow Mario is present, I feel like Piantas are colour-blind, because they can't even see the obvious difference between the two.
After defeating Shadow Mario by spraying him with FLUDD, he drops Peach and makes his escape, and he paints a Rainbow M on the Grand Pianta Statue, which opens up the first world, and these act as the paintings from Super Mario 64 which allows you to enter another world.
