The long awaited battle at Gronder Field, where the Battle of the Eagle and Lion took place 5 years ago, but this time, it is not a mock battle, it is a duel to the death. With Dimitri on our side, we must kill every last one of them, but the other two house leaders are not holding anything back in this fight.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Here is the Battle at Gronder, and we get a similar cutscene to the Battle of the Eagle and Lion, except this time it is more darker and serious, and Dimitri even says his infamous line in that cutscene. The music is a darker remix of Blue Skies and a Battle, it is called Between Heaven and Earth.
The objective is to defeat Edelgard and Claude, and they have some tougher allies, on Edelgard's side, she has Hubert and two Imperial Generals, the Sniper on the ballista would be Bernadetta, and the Assassin would be Petra if they were not recruited. For Claude's side, he has a bunch of Alliance Generals, the Gremory would be Lysithea, the Grappler would be Raphael, and the Sniper would be Ignatz. I won't go too much into detail about them, but if they are recruited, you would fight against weaker Generals without Crests or Personal Abilities, but they are tougher than normal enemies.
Once you set foot onto the central hill, Claude sends his entire Alliance army against us, and I do like how he says "rules of Melee", that line makes me think of Smash Bros. in some way, and two reinforcements, from the east border are two Snipers and a Paladin, which would be Leonie, and on the north part of the map, two Pegasus Knights and a Warrior, which would be Hilda. If Hilda was not recruited, she would have Freikugel, otherwise it would be a Warrior with a Silver Axe.
The Imperial General Assassin is an evasive opponent with the Sword of Zoltan, and if Petra was not recruited, she is even harder to beat. When both Bernadetta and Petra are defeated, Edelgard will then set the central hill on fire, rattling any units standing on there that turn, and Hubert will advance towards the burning central hill to take out anyone caught in the flames.
Hubert has some powerful dark spells, and he has Fiendish Blow to make his magic attacks hit harder, but he has very low Defense, so physical units can defeat him without too much problems, but watch out for his attacks.
I could go over the items each unit has, a Paladin has a Lampos Shield, which negates anti-cavalry bonus damage, Bernadetta will drop a Killer Bow, Lysithea has a Speed Ring which you can steal off her, and every unit has a Concoction, and both Edelgard and Claude have a Master Seal each, there is a chest on the southern part of the map containing an Umbral Steel.
I can go over Claude right now, he is a Wyvern Master, which is his unique class and wields Failnaught, a Hero's Relic tied to the Crest of Riegan, which Claude has, and allows him to use Fallen Star, which makes Claude immune to every attack, so try not to let Claude use Fallen Star. He has Close Counter, so close attacks will make him counterattack, and he has Flying Effect Null, which will prevent bonus damage from bows. He has Immortal Corps for his Battalion and a high Charm stat, so that can be dangerous if you let him use Ashes and Dust. His Res is not that good, so magic attacks can make quick work of him, but he isn't too difficult, but his entire Alliance army rushing in can make things difficult.
Then for Edelgard, she is the hardest out of the two, her unique class is Armored Lord, and she wields Aymr, a Crest Stone weapon tied to the Crest of Seiros and allows her to use Raging Storm, this is a very powerful Combat Art that will allow Edelgard to act again, making her a very dangerous opponent, this can even wipe out a lot of your units in one attack. She also has the Sword of Seiros, which Rhea had back in Chapter 12, and as Edelgard has the Crest of Seiros, she will get the full effect from it. She has Counterattack, so she can can counter attacks no matter the range, and she is very defensive and her Battalion is Supreme Armored Co., which can allow her to use Raging Flames, and her Charm stat is high. The Japanese name for Supreme Armored Co. does contain a massive spoiler to a very powerful enemy that is only fought on the Azure Moon route. Edelgard has Armored Effect Null, which protects her from bonus effects against armored units, so I would recommend having many units take her on, and saving some Gambits can help, as there are some Demonic Beasts on the Imperial side.
After defeating both Claude and Edelgard, we go through some scenes from after the fight, one of which is a surprise attack, and then Byleth and Dimitri at the Monastery.
