Fire Emblem: Three Houses S1 E40 (127) Part 2
Dimitri's hand is stayed against the defeated baron, but the truth remains that the Dominic forces will likely be used against our troops in the future. Annette and Gilbert have enough political capital to prevent the mad king from going on a rampage as he has been apt to do. However, the Blue Lions will be able to receive inside information about the inner workings and planning of the Faerghus Dukedom, so it is not a complete wash. Well it would have been a short map if only I read a guide or the game's writing was an ounce less Byzantine. I am just glad that it is over with. As far as strategy went, we consolidated our troops and pushed north to finish this awful map. The enemy was an underdog, but they whipped us.
Baron Dominic lacks the resources to defend his lands from Cornelia, therefore, he is compelled to bend the knee to her dukedom. House Gautier and Fraldarius for their part hold vast territories that are self sustaining and affluent enough to wait out being sieged. Unfortunately, if we were to overthrow Cornelia Baron Dominic would just as likely side with us, meaning that this ensuing battle is senseless because this noble lacks agency. The enemy is so static that they are easy to manipulate knowing what I know now, in practice I get steamrolled because I did not comprehend the unique dynamics of this map. In fact, Annette and Gilbert may or may not get attacked eventually, but most of the enemy troops that automatically activate are attacking our other units. This one was frustrating.
**NOTES** A map lost this badly is probably not worth publishing but sticking to the formula of releasing everything. I am a little embarrassed but I only would have done things differently if I had foreknowledge of how this map is supposed to operate. Therefore, from that perspective, I deserve the loss and it is healthier for me to feel that way instead of holding onto the idea that it was in any way unfair. Along those lines, I try to live life that sort of way. These episodes are normally scheduled for noon EST. We are currently sitting 29-11 we had an episode off air affecting our count, and Annette earns the Crusher winning the MVP with her wind magic, but she deserves it more for taking that beating. We are going to close this chapter next episode.
