20In this video I show you how to fix Roblox error code 279. This is a disconnected error in Roblox and will typically happen when you are having connectivity issues. In some cases you may get the disconnected error when in a game or trying to join a game. One possible solution is to join a different server. You can do this by leaving the game, and joining back. When doing this you will want to click the play button for the game you want to play. Joining a game this way will attempt to add you to the server with the best connection.
Another solution for the disconnected error in Roblox is to make sure you aren’t connected to a VPN. If you are then it may be affecting your connectivity in Roblox. You can fix this by closing Roblox and disconnecting from your VPN. Once done you can reopen Roblox and play again.
If you are using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet, then you may have 2 versions of your Wi-Fi. In some instances you will have a 2.4G and 5G option. If this is the case then the Wi-Fi name will typically be the same, with one labelled as 2.4G and the other as 5G. Sometimes you may have a better connection when using the alternative version of your Wi-Fi. Typically, the 2.4G version will provide a more reliable connection at long distances, while 5G will provide faster speeds and lower ping at shorter distances.
Another option is to use an ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. This will ensure you have the fastest and most reliable connection possible. However, using an ehternet connection isn’t always possible.
If you are still getting the Roblox 279 error code then you can also try updating Roblox. You can check if you have an update by closing Roblox and reopening it. If Roblox has an update then you will see a window appear saying that the application is updating when you reopen Roblox. Alternatively, if you are using the Microsoft Store version of Roblox then you will get a message telling you that you need to update the Roblox app.
Another fix if you are getting the disconnected error in Roblox is to uninstall and reinstall Roblox. This can be done by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting Installed Apps or Apps & Features. Once done you can search for Roblox, then open the Options and choose to uninstall. After uninstalling Roblox you can then go to the Roblox website and attempt to play a game, this will give you the option to download the Roblox installer. Once downloaded you can double-click on the Roblox installer file to install Roblox.
