The most effective way to clear the wave is with two ships, so the first thing you can do is get your fighter captured. Only the ships in the back row can capture you, so make sure you focus on only clearing out the enemies in front. Once in a while the ship will stop midway to shoot a warp beam. Make sure you always have an extra life before hopping on so that another fighter can come out to rescue you by shooting down the enemy ship. Be careful not to shoot your own though. If you shoot too soon you can trap your spaceship, it's not very common and I had trouble replicating this possible glitch. With two fighter the game becomes substantial easier, especially challenge stages. Speaking of with, getting a perfect score on each of these stages with earn you an extra 10,000 points, so memorize the different patterns. The first one can be done staying exactly in the middle. The second challenge you have to move left once during the second swarm, and the rest is down the middle. The third has some swarms offset slightly left and right, I'll leave the the rest to you. During the normal stages, enemies come from either the left, right, or middle of the stage. If they are coming from either side, move your ships over to that side and draw back while firing. Using a turbo button is not cheating, it's a tool because even with the the turbo, there are times when you want to manual fire so you can time your second bullet. I tend to jerk the ship back and forth while moving from side to side, and it this prevents me from ever dedicating to one side if there's too much gunfire. If you lose a fighter, get the second one back as soon as you can, if you can. This is a top priority. There's this trick in the original version where you can leave 1 or 2 bees on the left, avoid their bullets for 20 minutes, and get all the enemies to stop shooting. You best bet is to stay as far right as possible. There's only one possible shot that you hit you and it was that one right there. So make sure you're ready to move left.
