Gemini 3 was the first American spaceflight, that took more than one crewmember to space. Astronauts for that mission were Gus Grisssom and John Young. Mission took of at March 23rd 1965 from LC-19 Cape Canaveral on top of an Titan GLV rocket. Crew stayed in orbit for over 4 hours. After that spacecraft made 1st ever controlled re-entry (which means, that capsule was producing lift to slow down its descent through the atmosphere) and splashed down in the ocean.
