Here's my small contribution to the ongoing re-breaking of God of War III.

Thanks to JonathanGotGames for his discovery of this small ledge at the end of Olympia that might yet prove useful in a New Game speedrun of this game.

(Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eR7xDyDTjk)

In the original video, the player relies on Kratos breaching the wall when climbing up, which is fairly rare and random. It's much easier to just use the ledge to get height and then double glide jump to grab the ledge above the doorway and from there jump above the cliff.

Now we can access the levitating collision even on NG... it's just a shame Kratos can't Jet Dash at this point in the game yet. However, if you hit the piece of levitation collision while double glide jumping, you can jump after levitating and do a second glide, giving you some length at least. But not terribly much before Kratos just gives up and falls down. I can't say for sure if the length is enough to do a bigger skip in here, and also hitting the levitation collision like this seems very difficult (at least I don't have a reliable set-up for it yet)... So, I guess some more tests are needed.

At the end, the R1 point I examined was glitched up and Kratos was unable to leave it. So I got softlocked.

EDIT: findlestick later converted a part of this tactic into a working sequence break! See here:
