Witcher 3 glitch special pt. 8 - Passing on the glitchy torch
3In this not-so-explosive finale of the glitch special, we explore what happens if you take out the torch at the same time you unequip it (i.e. the bow glitch, except with torch).
Basically, after doing this glitch variation, Geralt takes out a torch but never bothers to light it up. The torch also stays in his hands during many animations that it would normally disappear in, like doing unarmed melee attacks, swimming, on horseback, throwing bombs, etc. You can also do strong attacks like this (normally impossible with a torch in hand).
The torch acts in a glitchy way during some animations. Whistling for your horse, swimming and casting signs looks strange, for instance.
If you instead drop all your torches instead of just unequipping them, Geralt starts holding a non-existing torch in his hands. It seems to be the same effect as normal, but more transitory, and it ends by itself after unarmed melee attacks.
To note, most of the other special items in this game work exactly the same way as the torch. For example the magic lamp also appears in Geralt's hands unlit and it has absolutely no effects outside just being there.
As a bonus, here's some numb arms action with a torch in hand. Geralt holds the torch dangerously close to his pants and acts in a very devil-may-care manner.
If you have a subtle version of bow glitch active and then do torch glitch, Geralt will hold out the torch like this was some Harry Potter-game and it was a magic wand.
And finally, the question you've all been waiting for to get answered... what happens if you throw a non-existing bomb via the menu glitch? The answer is... nothing much.
Alright, these eight videos showed the most interesting things you can do with the menu loophole and bow glitches (and variants). It's a very complex glitch, though, and some variations still remain undocumented and not that well tested. Some more data will probably follow later, but for now... Arkham Knight.
