In this chapter, Manny finally solves all the problems preventing him from leaving the town of Rubacava, as he secures the Sea Bees' tools for Glottis (after setting the Bees' leader up for a fall and bringing him back up with the help of Nick the Lawyer), dupes the authorities into believing Seaman Naranja to be deceased, and procures a fake union membership from Chowchilla Charlie. Last, but not least, in an oh-so-Casablanca move Manny sabotages his own casino, burning off the bridges for himself and Glottis, and sets sail for Puerto Zapato in pursuit of the lovely Meche and his own redemption. Alas, his existence continues to be threatened by the deadly agents of Hector LeMans even at his next port of destination... apparently, there is nowhere to hide from his enemies except for the very bottom of the sea!
