In this chapter, the party of David gains magic entrance to the besieged stronghold of Bridgefort, where they are reunited with David's old friend Khalid, in command of the garrison, as well as his old flame Neera the Wild Mage, apparently too preoccupied at the moment with driving the nagging presence of her old mentor Adoy out of her brain to care about rekindling the old flames. While investigating the situation, David completes several minor errands, such as exposing a false cleric working for the forces of evil ("Tender Of The Dead") and neutralizing a lethal enchanted boulder ("The Creeping Darkness"). Eventually, however, the hero has to make the big choice of whether to join forces with Khalid so as to give a ferocious battle to his enemies - or to surrender the fort after destroying all of its supplies, so as to avoid unnecessary bloodshed...

35:00 - The party confronts the wizard Vichand about the spellstone.
38:00 - Vichand is executed by the party for refusing to part with a planetar's feather.
40:45 - Back in camp, the party fights some spectral beasts and picks up Glint.
46:55 - Glint gets to meet Hoach Randymonk, his uncle.
50:40 - David confronts Junia about the killings and exposes her evil.
53:05 - Wynan Hess deals with the spellstone, and David gets his reward.
58:00 - David fights a Greater Feyr at night in the courtyard.
