Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called on sitting governors, their predecessors and politically-exposed persons to resist what they termed “unjust persecution” of former governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the
chairman,Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG), Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa, also queried the mischievous narrative in some quarters on the former Governor evading arrests as reckless.

He said the EFCC at the first instance ought to have abided by the court order retraining it from arresting, arraigning or prosecuting the former Governor Bello until it is lawfully vacated.

The Group also questioned remarks like using the armed forces against the Former Gov, linking the move to the withdrawal of his security details.

Reinstating their stand against corruption, the Group said every prosecution should be carried out in accordance with the law.
