Half-Nuked | deeplong | No Failure Run
In the interim between the last run and this one, I've been busy cobbling up stuff for this quaint little mod. Mostly the usual, stuff like bigger HUD and whatnot, though I've been experimenting with things here and there. The HUD being set up to look a bit more like the original's down to the actual sprite icons being used, for instance.
It's not all done yet, being trapped in the conundrum of deciding between lowering the resolution on the weapons (considering they're from HRP and are considerably higher res than standard HL1 models) or merging the HD pack with it to match, so I'm not planning on a release any time soon. There's all sorts of other stuff I could talk about that folks might be able to notice, like weapon textures, sound effects, etc, but I'll skip that for now and instead talk about the map that I'm running.
The reason why I ran it with HNuke today is pretty much 'cause it seemed like a really fitting map, what with all the destruction setpieces. It's big enough that I had to mess around with the edicts a bit, as the default one I got set up softcrashes with the thing. I dunno if there's any RPGs to find, though there's plenty secrets that could be easily missed if you're not looking.
