Ah, the return to Joel's vast array of Doom maps made for him in his second contest. This time with more tactical goodness with a pinch of silliness, still covered in the usual NFR blanket.

It's quite interesting. For the longest time, I've been trying to beat this map all the way back since my run of Hungry Hungry Joel, and yet it's not the difficulty of the map encounters nor the mod's tougher enemies that kept me from finally conquering this map.

No, it's the bits where you have to jump across multiple very tight platforms suspended above instant kill triggers, with some of the platforms being far enough that I needed ledge grabbing to catch them but not high enough that I can actually do it in HDest without triggering the instant kill trigger and absolutely ruining me in the process (the gravity increase if anything contributing to me slipping off the closer platforms due to speed). This was for the first bit, too. There's another section where I have to platform once again, and this time the reason why I constantly fail at it was because the ledge that I'm trying to grab are too tiny, being once again suspended above instant kill triggers. Alas, it seems at first that this was going to be an NFR I simply cannot conquer, until HDest added jetpacks.

Now, granted. It took me too long to return to this again after HDest introduced jetpacks. Long enough that nowadays there have been so many other methods to ease platforming that I could load in from Josh's grappling hook all the way to Ace's booster jets. However, I owe the jetpack more screentime than what it got in my videos so far, and so the decision was made to carry a jetpack into my journeys and nothing more. Indeed, the loadout for this map will be a very bold one, though one that I can still manage.
