How to Connect & Pair Xbox Elite Controller to Computer to Play Games (Windows 10 or 11)
2Connecting and pairing your Xbox Elite Controller to your computer is straightforward. You have a few options, depending on your setup:
Using a USB Cable:
Plug a micro-USB charging cable into the top of your controller.
Connect the other end of the cable to an available USB port on your PC.
If you’re using an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, or Xbox Adaptive Controller, use a USB-C cable.
If your Windows device doesn’t detect the controller after waking up from sleep, press the Xbox button on your controller to turn it back on or unplug and replug it.
Note: With USB connections, you can connect up to 8 Xbox Wireless Controllers simultaneously, or 4 controllers with Xbox Chat Headsets attached. If the controllers have Xbox Stereo Headsets, only 2 can be connected at the same time.
Wireless Connection via Xbox Wireless Adapter:
If you have an Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, plug it into an available USB port on your PC.
Turn on your controller by pressing the Xbox button.
The Xbox button will start flashing.
Press and hold the Pair button on the Xbox Wireless Adapter (a small light will flash).
Simultaneously, press and hold the Pair button on the top of your controller (the raised button).
When connected, the Xbox button on the controller will stay lit.

Built-in Xbox Wireless (if your PC supports it):
Turn on your controller by pressing the Xbox button for 3 seconds.
The Xbox button will start flashing.
Press and hold the Pair button on the top of your controller.
The Xbox button on the controller will flash more rapidly, indicating it’s searching for a PC.
On your PC, go to Settings - Devices (on Windows 11: Settings - Bluetooth & devices).
Choose Add Bluetooth or other device (on Windows 11: Add device), then select Everything else.
Select Xbox Wireless Controller or Xbox Elite Wireless Controller from the list.
