How to Reconnect your Controller back to your Xbox Series X (Wireless or USB)
3To reconnect your Xbox Series X controller, follow these steps:
Wireless Connection:
Insert either AA batteries or rechargeable batteries from the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit into the controller.
Turn on your controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button 🎮. The Xbox button will flash.
Locate the Pair button on your Xbox Series X:
On Xbox Series X, it’s on the front right, above the USB port.
On Xbox Series S, it’s on the front left, to the right of the USB port.
Within 20 seconds, press and hold the controller’s Pair button (a circular button on top of the controller) until the Xbox button stops flashing. This means it’s connected.
Alternatively, you can use the Xbox Accessories app:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Go to Profile & system - Settings - Devices & connections - Controllers & headsets - Connect a device.
Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your selected controller.
Repeat these steps for every additional controller you may have. You can connect up to eight wireless controllers to a console.
Wired Connection (using a USB-C cable):
Plug the USB-C cable into a USB port on the Xbox.
Connect the other end of the cable to your controller.
Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller to sync them.
Remember that your Xbox One Wireless Controller is compatible with Xbox Series X|S. If you encounter any issues, consider updating your controller firmware or checking the batteries. Happy gaming!
