How to Connect Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse to iPhone (Best Method)
Connecting a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to an iPhone is straightforward, but using a mouse requires enabling AssistiveTouch for pointer control. Below are the steps to connect both devices. These instructions apply to iPhones running iOS 13 or later. Note that not all Bluetooth mice (e.g., Apple’s Magic Mouse) are fully compatible with iPhones due to software limitations.
Connect a Bluetooth Keyboard
Turn On the Keyboard:
Ensure the keyboard is powered on and in pairing mode. Check the manufacturer’s instructions for how to enable pairing mode (often a button or switch).
Enable Bluetooth on iPhone:
Open Settings - Bluetooth.
Toggle Bluetooth on if it’s off.
Pair the Keyboard:
The keyboard should appear under Other Devices in the Bluetooth menu.
Tap the keyboard’s name to connect. If prompted, enter any passcode shown on the screen using the keyboard, then press Enter.
Once connected, it will appear under My Devices and is ready for use in apps like Notes or Messages.
Troubleshooting:
If the keyboard doesn’t appear, ensure it’s in pairing mode and not connected to another device. Unpair it from other devices if needed (Settings - Bluetooth - tap the “i” next to the device - Forget This Device).
For Apple’s Magic Keyboard, ensure it’s charged and turned on (green under the power switch).
