About this video: If you want to know how to download and install the Waddles mod in Minecraft, this is the video for you! Why would you want the Waddles mod? Well, Waddles adds penguins to Minecraft! These penguins spawn naturally once the mod is installed in snow, ice, and tundra biomes. They are super fun to explore and find. I love mods that add in new mobs like penguins with the waddles mod that can be found through exploration. So, without anymore delay, here is how to get penguins in Minecraft!
The first step of download and installing the penguins Minecraft mod is actually getting the Forge mod loader. You can find our complete guide for downloading, installing, and setting up Forge for Minecraft mods. We even go over some of the issues you may have when you are installing Forge for Minecraft in that tutorial. It will for sure allow you to get Forge for the Waddles mod.
After you have Forge, we can move on to downloading Waddles. You can find the official Waddles mod download link in the description above. That link will take you to CurseForge. On CurseForge’s website look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down the page until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.17’ section. For this tutorial we are installing Waddles 1.17.1, but this should work for any version of Waddles. Under this section, you will see the Waddles file. Click the download button to the right of this file, and the penguin mod will begin downloading. You will need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
With the Waddles file downloaded, we can learn how to install Waddles in Minecraft. To do this, open up Minecraft with the Forge mod loader. From the Minecraft main menu, click on the ‘mods’ tab. In the mods tab, you will see the ‘Open Mods Folder’ button in the bottom right. Click on that, and your mods folder will open. Drag-and-drop Waddles into this folder. It is that easy to install the Minecraft penguin mod!
You aren’t completely finished just yet though. You still need to restart Minecraft making sure that you are selecting the Forge profile when you launch up Minecraft. Minecraft will now open up, and if you go in-game, find a snow biome, and look around, you will find some incredibly cute penguins!
