We show you how to get the correct launcher for the Pixelmon modpack, how to install that launcher, download the Pixelmon Modpack, install the Pixelmon Modpack, and finally, how to play the Pixelmon modpack in Minecraft. Truthfully, we really do cover it, so you can have the best Pixelmon experience that you could possibly have, so without any more delay, here is how to get the Pixelmon Modpack in Minecraft.
The first step of download Pixelmon is actually downloading and installing the Twitch Launcher. You can find a link to our in-depth tutorial for getting the Twitch Launcher. It covers everything, and it even goes over some of the different issues that you may have when installing the Twitch Launcher for Pixelmon. Lastly, that tutorial gives you a tour of the Twitch Launcher to make sure you understand everything you can do with it in regards to Minecraft. So, go to that tutorial and go through it to get the Twitch Launcher.
Once you have the Twitch Launcher/App installed, we can begin the process of downloading Pixelmon for Minecraft. From the homepage of the Twitch App, click on the ‘mods’ tab at the top. This will take you a page that have a bunch of games on it. Click on Minecraft. You may then need to click a purple ‘Install’ button. If not, that is fine. You will land on the same page either way. From there, click ‘browse all modpacks’. Then, in the search box on this page, type ‘Pixelmon’. You will see the Pixelmon modpack appear. Hover over it, and click the purple ‘Install’ button when it appears. Pixelmon will now download and install in Minecraft. Yep! Pixel installs and downloads at the same time, so no need for over complication there!
Once Pixelmon has finished installing, you will see a purple ‘Play’ button appear when you hover over it. Click on that purple play button. The Minecraft Launcher will then open. You will need to login to the Minecraft Launcher. This is the same info you use in the normal Minecraft Launcher as this is the normal Minecraft Launcher. After you login, you should have see ‘Pixelmon’ in the bottom right next to the Play button.
Before you click play though, click on ‘installations’ at the top of Minecraft, click the three dots on your pixelmon profile, click edit, and click ‘advanced settings’. You will then see a ‘JVM Arguments’ section. The numbers at the beginning of this text box are the RAM dedicated to Minecraft. If you have lag in Pixelmon or you have issues opening Pixelmon, come here and increase the RAM. That will most likely fix your problem.
At this point, though, you can go back to the ‘Play’ tab, and click the big green Play button. That will open up the Pixelmon Modpack in Minecraft! Congratulations!
