How to extend screen to 2nd Monitor on Windows PC (100% Works!)
Here's how you can extend your screen to a second monitor on a Windows PC. This process is very reliable.
Physical Setup
Connect your second monitor to your PC using a video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA).
Make sure both your PC and the monitor are powered on.
Windows Display Settings
Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
Select "Display settings" from the context menu. This will open the Settings app directly to the display configuration page.
In the Display settings window, look for the "Multiple displays" section.
Click the drop-down menu next to "Multiple displays" and choose "Extend these displays."
"Extend" is the key setting. It makes your second monitor an extension of your desktop, allowing you to drag windows between the two screens.
"Duplicate" shows the same content on both screens.
"Show only 1" or "Show only 2" will disable one of the monitors.
You can also click on the "Identify" button to see which monitor is labeled as 1 and which is 2. This helps you determine their physical arrangement.
You can then drag and drop the monitor icons in the settings window to match their physical arrangement on your desk. This ensures that when you move your mouse from one screen to the other, it moves in the correct direction.
