How to Fix Camera Not Working on MSI Laptop & Turn On (Fast Tutorial)
3Use Function Keys to Enable/Disable Built-in Webcam: Press the [FN] key along with the [F6] or [F4] key (may vary by model) on the keyboard at the same time to enable/disable the camera in windows. Some models come with Fn Lock Key function. When ESC key LED indicator is on, the “Fn Lock” key is then enabled. If the ESC LED indicator is on, you can simply press the [F6] or [F4] (may vary by model) key to enable/disable the camera. If the ESC LED indicator is off (Fn Lock Off) then you will have to press [Fn] + [F6] or [F4] (may vary by model) to enable/disable the camera .
Use MSI software to Enable the Camera: You can enable/disable the camera by using MSI Dragon Center/MSI Creator Center/MSI Center Utilities. If you have an MSI laptop that has the Intel 7th gen CPU or before the Intel 7th gen, please use SCM（System Control Manager）to enable the camera. If you don’t have SCM installed on your laptop, please go to MSI’s official website to download.
Allow Applications to Access the Camera: If you are unable to use the camera, you might have to check if the application has the access to your laptop camera. Please follow the steps below to allow apps to access your camera:
Click on the “Window Logo” located on the bottom left hand corner and Click on Settings.
Click on “Privacy”
Click on “Camera” and enable “Allow access to the camera on this device”
If you would like certain applications installed in your system to access your camera, you can enable each of them individually under “Choose Which Microsoft Store apps can access your camera”.
Check Anti-virus software settings: If the camera still doesn’t work, check your anti-virus software settings. Some anti-virus software may block the camera from working properly.
System Restore: If none of the above steps work, you can try restoring your system to a previous date when the camera was working fine.
