How to Fix your Locked Games on PS4 & Unlock them FAST!
2Seeing a padlock icon on your PS4 games is incredibly frustrating, as it means you can't launch them. This usually indicates a licensing issue. Here's how to fix it and unlock your games, focusing on the fastest and most common solutions:
Quick Fixes (Try These First!)
These are the most frequent solutions and usually work quickly.
Restart Your PS4 Console:
Press and hold the PS button on your controller to open the Quick Menu.
Select Power Restart PS4.
After the restart, check if the locks are gone. This often clears minor glitches.
Restore Licenses:
This is the most common and effective solution for digital games. It refreshes your console's understanding of your purchased content.
Go to Settings (toolbox icon on the home screen).
Select Account Management.
Choose Restore Licenses.
Select Restore.
This process usually takes a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on how many licenses you have. Once complete, check your games.
Activate as Your Primary PS4:
If your console isn't set as the primary console for the account that owns the games, or if you lose internet connection, games might get locked.
Go to Settings (toolbox icon).
Select Account Management.
Choose Activate as Your Primary PS4.
