This process performs a hardware-level reset of the controller's internal settings, similar to a soft reset.
What you'll need:
Your PS4 DualShock 4 controller
A small, pointed, non-metallic object (like a toothpick, straightened paperclip, or SIM ejector tool). Avoid using a pencil or anything that could break off inside.
Steps to Reset Your PS4 Controller:
Turn off your PS4 completely. Do not put it in Rest Mode. This ensures the console isn't trying to interfere with the controller's reset. Unplug it from the power outlet for a minute if you want to be extra thorough.
Locate the reset button. On the back of your DualShock 4 controller, near the L2 shoulder button, there's a tiny hole. This is where the reset button is located.
Insert the toothpick. Gently insert the tip of your toothpick (or chosen tool) into the tiny hole.
