Video and images can be flipped both horizontally and vertically in After Effects. A horizontal flip with swap the left and right sides. The vertical flip will rotate the video upside down. Both flip options are useful for video editing and can be used alongside each other to mirror and flip the video layer. To flip a video in After Effects imply select the video layer, right-click, and go to transform. Both the horizontal and vertical flip options are found here.
