135So let's say you want to evolve Golbat into Crobat in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald. But at which lv should Golbat evolve? The answer is that Golbat wont evolve simply by leveling, it also needs to have happiness over 255. Happiness is hidden stats in 3rd generation of pokemon games, but it can be checked in Verdanturf Town. Lady in this town will check happiness of your 1st pokemon in your party, when She says that your pokemon can't possibly love you more that means that your pokemon happiness is 255 or over. When you reach this happiness with your Golbat you just need to pass 1 lv and it will evolve into Crobat. But there is another question, how to increase your pokemon happiness? There are many ways like:
1. For every 256 steps your pokemon gains happiness, doesnt need to be 1st in your party.
2. Use Luxury ball to catch it.
3. Give it hp up, protein, iron, carbos, calcium and zinc.
4. Use it in battle with gym leaders and in Pokemon League.
5. Give it Soothe Bell as hold item, it makes your pokemon become friendly faster.
6. Level up your pokemon either by battle, Exp. Share or Rare Candy.

1. You make it faint during the battle.
2. You make it use bitter medicine (Heal Powder, Revival Herb, Energy Root, etc.)
