How to workaround Instagram app crashing seconds after being launched on Android
2This video will show you a workaround to the problem of the Instagram app shutting down (crashing) seconds later after being launched on your Android device. The error message received is generally one of the following:
Unfortunately, Instagram has stopped.
Unfortunately, the process com.instagram.android has stopped.
The main reason for this crash is that the updating of your Instagram news feed requires a lot of hardware resources and memory - chances are your Android device has resources too limited to support the updating of your entire news feed, and because of this, the Instagram app is crashing.
If this is the situation you find yourself in, if you wish to peruse (browse) your Instagram news feed, as well as liking and commenting on posts, sadly there is no fix for this and unfortunately you will not be able to use the affected Android device in question to do so, and rather I recommend that you do so by logging in to the Instagram website instead.
Despite this hurdle, you can still upload photos, videos, profile updates and status updates using the Instagram app. First, open the Instagram app. As soon as the app opens and logs you in and before it has time to crash, go to the Settings of your Android device and turn off (disable) your Internet connection, whether it be via Wi-Fi or Mobile Data Network (this can often be done quickly by holding the Sleep/Wake On/Off button and selecting Airplane Mode). Once this is done, return to your Instagram app which should still be running and should not have crashed. Even without an Internet connection, you can still prepare a status update, a profile update, or a photo or video to be uploaded. Once the status update, profile update, or photo/video upload is prepared and ready to be submitted, return to your Android Settings and re-enable the Internet connection. Once the Internet connection has been re-established, return to the Instagram app and confirm the submission.
