How to Include Microphone Audio in Game Recordings on Windows 11 PC (Xbox Game Bar)
To include microphone audio in your game recordings using the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 11, follow these steps:
Using Settings:
Press Windows + I to open Settings.
Click on Gaming on the left side, and then select Captures on the right side.
Turn on “Capture audio when recording a game” (this is the default setting).
You can also choose whether to mute system and app audio when recording a game clip. If you want to capture only game audio, leave this option checked. If you want to include system and microphone audio, uncheck it.
Adjust the recorded audio quality by selecting a bitrate from the dropdown menu.
You can also adjust the system and mic audio levels while recording by moving the sliders. Set either slider to 0 if you want to mute your mic or system audio completely.
Using Xbox Game Bar:
Press Windows + G to open the Xbox Game Bar.
Click the Settings (gear) button on the Game Bar.
Navigate to Capturing on the left side.
Under AUDIO TO RECORD, choose one of the following options:
Game: Captures game audio only (default).
All: Records all sounds during a capture, including your mic, background music, and system sounds.
None: Blocks out game and system audio but still records your mic1.
Quick Shortcut:
While recording, press Windows + Alt + M to toggle the microphone on and off.
To start recording, click the “Start Recording” icon in the Capture pane
