To enable or disable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) on your Windows 11 PC, you have a couple of options. Let’s walk through them:

Using Windows Settings:
Press Win + I to open Windows Settings.

Click on System in the left sidebar, then select Display on the right side.
Under Graphics, click on Advanced graphics settings to expand it.
Toggle the Variable refresh rate setting to On or Off based on your preference. Note that this option will only appear if your machine has the necessary drivers and a VRR-capable monitor.
Using Registry Editor (Advanced method):

Open Registry Editor by typing regedit.exe in the Start menu.
Navigate to the following key in the left pane:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectX\UserGpuPreferences.
In the right pane, double-click on the DirectXUserGlobalSettings string value (REG_SZ) to modify it.

To turn on Variable Refresh Rate:
Change the value of VRROptimizeEnable to 1.
To turn off Variable Refresh Rate (default setting):
Change the value of VRROptimizeEnable to 0
