How to Turn On the Colorblind Filters on Windows 11 PC (Color Filters)
If you’re looking to enable color filters on your Windows 11 PC to assist with colorblindness, there are a couple of methods you can use. Let’s explore both options:
Using the Settings App:
Right-click on the Start menu and select Settings.
In the left pane, click on Accessibility.
On the right side, click on Color Filters.
Toggle the switch next to Color Filters to turn it on.
You’ll see a list of six different color filters. Choose the one that suits your needs.
As you select a particular filter, it will be applied to your system immediately. You can also preview the effects in the Color Filter Preview pane.
To quickly toggle the color filter on or off, use the keyboard shortcut Win + Ctrl + C. First, ensure you’ve enabled this option by turning on the switch next to Keyboard shortcut for filters.
Using the Taskbar:
Click on the area of the Taskbar where Wi-Fi, sound, and battery icons are available.
Click on the Accessibility button.
Turn on the button next to Color Filters.
If you don’t find Accessibility in the Quick Settings, you can add it:
Click on the area of the Taskbar where you see Wi-Fi, sound, and battery icons.
Click on the Pencil icon.
Select Accessibility from the list and click Done. This will add the Accessibility button to the Quick Settings.
Remember, these color filters are designed to assist people with specific types of color blindness (such as Deuteranopia, Protanopia, or Tritanopia). Choose the filter that works best for you, and enjoy a more comfortable computing experience!
