About this video: Our goal with this video is to show you how to easily download and install mods for Minecraft. Whether it is Forge mods, Fabric mods, or NeoForge mods, this video will show you the quickest and easiest way to get mods in Minecraft. This is done by using the CurseForge app. CurseForge lets you create custom profiles for your mods downloading any dependencies, making sure things are for the correct version, and even making sure you are only downloading mods for the mod loader you selected. Let’s get started!
First off, go to the CurseForge website and click “Get CurseForge App” in the top right. This will take you to a page where you can select “Download Standalone” and it will begin downloading.
CurseForge installs just like any other program. Just run the installer file you downloaded. Click “Next” a few times, and agree to the EULA along the way. Eventually, CurseForge will install, and you will land in the app.
Select Minecraft, Standard Recommended Installation, and then click “Continue”. This will land you on the My Modpacks tab where you will be able to manage all of your Minecraft mod profiles as well as any community modpacks you install.
Click “Create” to make a new profile. This is where you will install your Minecraft mods, but before we can do that, you will need to choose a Minecraft version and mod loader. The popular Minecraft mod loaders are Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge. Generally, Fabric is better for newer Minecraft versions and Forge is better for older versions if you want support for as many mods as possible.
Once you are created your installation, you will be taken to a page with a “+Content” button in the top right. Click this, and you will be able to see all of the Minecraft mods that are compatible with your mod loader. Just click “Install” on these, and they will be added to your Minecraft installation.
After you have added all the mods you want, you go back to the “My Modpacks” tab and just on the “Play” icon and the Minecraft launcher will open. You will to login, select Java Edition on the left-hand side, and then, click on “Play” again.
Minecraft will now open up with any Minecraft mods you wanted to installed! From here, you can use them in singleplayer or multiplayer.
