About this video: This video is a quick guide on how to reset the nether in your Minecraft Java Edition world. This will allow you to reexplore with a complete fresh state, and it is especially good if you want to regenerate biomes or get new things that have been added to the nether since your nether spawn was originally generated.
To get started, you will need to open Minecraft, go to Singleplayer, click on the world you want a brand new nether with on and click “Edit”. Then, click “Open World Folder”. This will take you to a folder with all your Minecraft worlds in it.
Select the world you want to get a new nether in, and then, you will see a “DIM-1” folder. This is the folder where your nether is stored. Right-click and rename this folder to “DIM-1-RESET”. Now, when you join your world, you will have a brand new nether.
If you want to go back to your old nether, just rename the new DIM-1 folder that generated, and remove “-RESET” from the old one you renamed. Now, your previous nether instance will appear again, and you are good go!
It’s that easy to reset the nether in Minecraft Java Edition, but if you have any questions, let us know in the comments. We will try our best to help you out. Otherwise, if we did help you get a new nether, be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. Thank you very, very much in advance!
