About this video: In this video, I teach you exactly how to make a Minecraft 1.14 snapshot server. Minecraft 1.14 brings a ton of new awesome stuff to Minecraft from pandas and pillagers to crossbows and scaffolding, Minecraft 1.14 is one of the coolest updates we have seen in a very long time, and this video shows you exactly how to make a snapshot server with it. This will allow you to play #Minecraft 1.14 with your friends before it is even out in its final release.
So, let's go ahead and just right on into. First and foremost, you will need to get the newest Minecraft launcher. This is very, very simple, and we have the download link and a complete tutorial above. Most like though, you already have this launcher. Once you are in the launcher, go to launcher options and set up a new version. Select the Minecraft snapshot version you want to make a server on, and click 'server download' that will appear next to it.
Your server .jar file will automatically download. Go ahead and create a new folder and drag your server.jar file into. Now, right click and create a new text document. In this new text document, paste one of the codes above. I would recommend at least 2GB of RAM for a snapshot server. After you have pasted the code in, save this document as a 'run.bat' file.
After you have your run.bat file created, go ahead and double-click on it. Your server will start and instantly stop. You will now have a EULA.txt file. Open this in Notepad, go to the EULA link, and if you agree to it, change EULA=false to EULA=true. Then, save the file. Click the run.bat file again, and your server will start up. You can now play on it yourself or someone in your house, but we need to do a bit more if you want to play on your #MinecraftSnapshot server with friends.
Just like with any #MinecraftServer, you will need to port forward your 1.14 snapshot server in order to let other people join. This is very, very easy to do. First, open up the command prompt and type 'ipconfig'. Take note of your IPv4 address and default gateway. Go ahead and put your IPv4 address next to 'server-ip' in the 'server.properties' file in your server folder. After that, open your browser and type your default gateway in as a website.
Here, you will need to login to your router, and port forward the port 25565. You can find links on how to port forward for a Minecraft snapshot server and how to find your router's password linked above if you need help logging into your router or port forward.
From there, go to the link above titled 'What's My IP', get your public IP, and type that into Minecraft. This is also the IP address your friends will use to join your server! Congrats! You now have a Minecraft server running the 1.14 snapshot! If you have any questions, please post them in the comments below, and be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already! It helps us out a ton!
