About this video: Glass is one of the most common blocks when building in Minecraft. There are tons of different uses for it including making windows, glass walls, and even when crafting stained glass, tinted glass, end crystals, and even beacons. There are tons of different uses for glass in Minecraft, so let’s jump right into how to make glass in Minecraft!
First things first, you will need to locate sand. Sand is the block that glass is created with, and you can find sand all over your Minecraft world. It is commonly found in desert biomes, around rivers, oceans, and other bodies of water, and even randomly throughout other biomes.
When gathering sand, you will gather as much sand you need glass blocks and each piece of sand makes one glass block.
Once you have all the sand you want, you will need to get some coal, wood, or something else to use as fuel in a furnace. You will also need to make a furnace. This is done by placing cobblestone around the outside of a crafting table.
With your furnace created and your fuel in the furnace, we can now go over how to craft glass in Minecraft. All you need to do is place your sand in the top slot of the furnace. It will then begin cooking, and with that, you will start seeing sand appear in the output slot in the furnace.
It’s that easy to create glass in Minecraft. However, what if you want to do things like make tinted glass, glass panes, or even stained glass?
Well, let’s start with glass panes. To make glass panes in Minecraft, you will need to make the glass blocks we just created. From there, go to a crafting table and place 6 glass blocks on the top two rows of the crafting table. This will output 16 glass panes allowing you to have more of a glass window effect than a glass wall effect.
To make stained glass, you will need the dye of the color you want to stain the glass. Then, place the dye in the middle of the crafting table, and place glass all around the dye. When you do this, 8 stained glass panes will be created.
You can now use this to make glass panes in order to make tinted glass panes.
