We even show you how to setup Optifine to stop lag in Minecraft. Optifine is actually one of the biggest reasons many people can play Minecraft as it adds in lag optimizations that help with lighting and chunk loading which are Minecraft's biggest lag culprits. Thus, let's go ahead and learn how to reduce lag in Minecraft 1.14!
First and foremost, you will need to start in the Minecraft launcher. This is where we can do some little fixes to stop lag in Minecraft 1.14. The first of which is adding more RAM. You can do this by clicking the three lines in the top right of the screen, and selecting 'Launch Options'. Then, click the Optifine profile, and click 'JVM Arguments'. Here you will see a number followed by a 'G'. Change the number in front of the 'G' to a higher number to add more RAM to Minecraft. You can also change your Minecraft resolution here. The lower you resolution, the less lag you will have in Minecraft 1.14.
At this point, you can go ahead and open up Minecraft 1.14 with Optifine installed. After that click 'Options' and then 'Video Settings'. After that, you will be able to start changing Optifine's setting to make Minecraft 1.14 run faster. Overall, you need to turn everything either off or on fast. This will help optimize Minecraft as much as possible and reduce lag. Additionally, make sure all animations are turned off. You will nee to make sure all 'Performance' settings are turned on. This is because if you want to increase Minecraft 1.14's performance, this is where you can do it.
One thing I would recommend doing is getting a baseline FPS. That way you can see how big your FPS increase is in Minecraft 1.14. Otherwise, you'll be guessing. Luckily, Optifine allows you to see FPS all the time in the top right with a simple setting in the 'Other' tab in your video settings.
