In this video, I will be showing you how to migrate your Minecraft: Java Edition Mojang account to a Microsoft account. If you have come back to Minecraft after a long hiatus and have tried to log in to your Mojang account in your Minecraft Launcher, you will noticer that you're immediately logged out and are unable to continue playing Minecraft. This is because Mojang accounts are being phased out and replaced by Microsoft accounts. All Mojang accounts will need to migrate over and be upgraded to Microsoft accounts. Don't worry, your skins, creations, progress, and username will still be there when you log in with your Microsoft account. The migration process involves the following five steps: confirmation of your email address, Microsoft account setup, Xbox Live profile setup, linking of accounts, and play Minecraft: Java Edition. There are benefits to migrating your Mojang account over to a Microsoft account. These benefits are as follows: improved account security, one account for all Minecraft games, improved parental controls, and a special migrator cape.

Steps To Migrate Minecraft: Java Edition Mojang Account To A Microsoft Account:
1. Open the new Minecraft Launcher. If you don't have it installed yet, follow this video of mine titled: How To Install New Minecraft Launcher From The Microsoft Store For Java, Windows, & Dungeons Edition https://youtu.be/7hG-xZzD4Mk
2. Click on "Mojang Login" and log in with your Mojang account
3. Click on "Get started at the bottom of your Minecraft launcher or click on "GO BACK" and click "Migrate"
4. Your default browser will then open at the following URL https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/login?view=mojang
5. Enter your Mojang account details to log in
6. Scroll down and click on "LET'S START MOVING!"
7. Click "GET CODE" to verify your email address tied to your Mojang account
8. Retrieve the seven-character confirmation code in your email inbox and enter it into the text box.
9. Click SUBMIT AND START MIGRATION
10. Sign in to your Microsoft account that you're going to migrate your Mojang account over to
11. Click COMPLETE MOVE
12. Open your Minecraft launcher and this time click on "Microsoft login
13. Enter your Microsoft account details. If you are already logged into another Microsoft account, you can simply click on "SWITCH ACCOUNT" and login to your Microsoft account that you migrated your Mojang account over to. If you're on Windows you might be prompted to set up Windows hello with your Microsoft account
14. Once logged in, click "LET'S PLAY" If you're on Windows, and your Microsoft account in your launcher does not match the one you're logged in to in the Microsoft store you may be greeted with a small window that notifies you regarding this. You can click on "Close" or you can go to the Microsoft store and add your Microsoft account that you're using with your Minecraft launcher
15. You are now ready to play Minecraft: Java Edition. Click "PLAY" to continue where you left off.
Congratulations, you have successfully migrated your Minecraft: Java Edition Mojang account to a Microsoft account.
