How to Remove Fingerprint Unlock & Face Unlock using Samsung Phone (Android Tutorial)
You have two main methods for removing or disabling biometric features like Fingerprint Unlock and Face Unlock on your Samsung Galaxy phone. You can either delete the biometric data entirely or just turn off the unlock feature while keeping the data registered.
The steps below guide you through deleting the biometric data, which is the most thorough method.
Part 1: Remove Face Recognition Data
This process permanently deletes the stored facial scan data from your device.
Open Settings:
Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the Settings gear icon (⚙ ).
Go to Security/Biometrics:
Scroll down and tap on Security and privacy (or Biometrics and security on some models).
Tap on Biometrics.
Access Face Recognition:
Tap on Face recognition.
Enter your current PIN, Pattern, or Password (your secure screen lock) to proceed.
Delete the Data:
On the Face Recognition menu, tap Remove face data.
A confirmation prompt will appear; tap Remove to permanently delete your facial scan data.
The Face Unlock feature is now removed, and the option on this screen will change to Register face.
