Disabling the lock screen on an Android 15 phone follows the same fundamental steps as previous Android versions, but the exact menu names can vary slightly between phone manufacturers (like Samsung, Pixel, Motorola, etc.).

Important Warning: Removing your lock screen security (PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, and face recognition) leaves your personal data completely unprotected. Your phone will be accessible to anyone who picks it up.

Here is the step-by-step guide that works for most Android 15 devices.

Method: Removing the Screen Lock via Settings
You must know your current PIN, pattern, or password to disable the screen lock.

Step 1: Navigate to Security Settings
Open Settings: Tap the Settings app icon on your home screen or in your app drawer.

Find Security: Scroll down and tap on one of the following menu options, as they are often grouped together:

Security & privacy (Most common on recent Android and Pixel phones)

Lock screen (Common on Samsung devices)

Biometrics and password (Common on various brands)

Step 2: Access the Screen Lock Type
Look for and tap the option that relates to your current lock method, such as:

Screen lock

Device unlock

Screen lock type

Step 3: Verify Your Identity
The phone will immediately prompt you to enter your current PIN, pattern, or password to confirm that you are the device owner.

Enter it and tap Next or the checkmark.

Step 4: Select "None" or "Swipe"
You will now see a list of screen lock options, including your current one.

Select None or Swipe (either option will essentially remove the security layer).

None: The screen will turn on and go straight to your home screen with a single press of the power button or tap of the screen.

Swipe: You will have to swipe your finger across the screen to dismiss the lock screen and reach the home screen, but no code is required.

Step 5: Confirm Deletion of Biometrics (If prompted)
A warning will likely appear, confirming that removing the lock will also delete all stored fingerprint and face recognition data.

Tap Remove data, Delete, or Confirm.

Your lock screen security is now removed. When you press the power button, you will no longer be asked for a PIN, pattern, or password.
